Weddings are one of the most personal life events you can plan. It’s our profound honor to be part of hundreds of weddings a year and enjoy when couples wish to personalize their menu. We’re finding that this a common trend. Such was the case with our recent couple Vanessa and Alex. Vanessa’s family are the owners of a small family diner. She manages the diner and wanted pay homage to her family’s establishment and their food. When the couple approached our VP of Sales, Veronica Medrano with their idea she was very excited to work with them on something so special and heartfelt. Our chef was brought in and he embraced the concept and worked with them to bring their essence of their diner into their wedding menu.
In addition to the menu, Vanessa and Alex also wanted to incorporate their Mexican Heritage into their celebration. The Los Angeles River Center and Gardens was the perfect backdrop to achieve this goal. This magnificent hidden garden in Los Angeles is a historic property with Spanish Style architecture and features that embody the spirit of a Mexican wedding. The entrance is impressive with it’s wrought iron gates and ivy covered walls. As you enter this magical property, you’re greeted by a bubbling fountain, clay tile roof buildings, a clock tower, expansive gardens with native California plants. To say the venue was perfect for our couple, is an understatement.
Getting back to the menu. The family diner was our muse. Our couple wanted their friends and family to feel AT HOME with a few dishes they have become familiar with and loved for decades. Our chefs recreated their wildly popular Sliders, and their main dish of Steak with Mushroom Gravy. Because it was a wedding, they wanted the meal to also be elegant. According to the couple and their guests, we achieved that goal of incorporating the family’s goal of recognizing the fruits of their labor at their diner.
