It’s undeniable that the beating heart of any catering firm is the kitchen, and the chefs and cooks who fuel it. One of those such people is Chef Marco Garcia. He’s only been with us one year, but has exhibited every quality that deserves the designation as Employee of The Month.
Marco tells us that one of the things he loves about working at Summit is the attitude of his co-workers. He’s especially proud to be part of a team that works together and communicates well , and results in great quality food.
He’s been married to his wife Raquel for 28 years, and together they have 3 beautiful children, Elsy 26, Leslie 25, and Marco 21. In his off time he likes to watch and play sports, particularly Soccer and Basketball. Because of his love of the mountains and outdoors, his favorite places to vacation are Lake Tahoe and the Sequoia National Park. His favorite food is Mexican Food
We asked Marco to describe one of his best memories of working with us. He beamed when telling us that it was the first event he ever worked on for us. It was a massive guest count, and he had never served or seen so many people at once in his career as a cook. He had great pride in seeing the event come together with all guests feed quickly and how happy they were.
Marco’s advice to any new employee would be to listen to the kitchen staff, learn everything you can, work hard to be part of the team and you’ll enjoy every working day. That’s great advice Marco, we stand by it 100%.
